Therapeutic Injections for TMJ Disorder and Bruxism

Bruxism (teeth grinding) and clenching can lead to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD). Some patients may find that they do not achieve adequate relief from traditional treatment modalities, such as biteplanes and habit changes. In these situations, therapeutic injection of neuromodulators, such as Botox® and Dysport®, may be recommended. Using injection techniques, the main muscle responsible for bruxism and clenching, the masseter, is relaxed. As a result, patients can expect a reduction in jaw and muscle pain, as well as associated headaches and neck tension.

Cosmetic Injections

Neuromodulators, such as Botox® and Dysport®, work to soften and relax the muscles of the face that create wrinkles. When administered by a qualified medical professional, patients can expect a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Treatment areas include crows feet, forehead wrinkles, brow lifts and frown lines.
